I love getting gifts. Don’t you? I also enjoy giving gifts. It’s so fun to give someone a gift that you know they will really love or appreciate. Sometimes it’s difficult to find a good present for someone because you may not know them well enough to know what they need or what they would enjoy.
I’ve been blessed to receive a lot of thoughtful gifts in my life. I’m not saying they were expensive, but they were given with my needs or preferences in mind. I’ve appreciated every one. However, there is one gift I’ve received that I cherish above all others, and I want to tell you about it today.
Interestingly enough, I can pass this specific gift on to you and still keep it all for myself. It’s the best kind of ‘regifting.’ Have I intrigued you? I hope so.
Maybe you’ve guessed. The greatest gift I have ever received was God’s gift of Jesus; the gift of eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
To know that I have been rescued, saved, and delivered from the consequences of my sin is nothing short of a miracle. The confidence of knowing that I have received the gift of eternal life and will live forever in heaven is priceless. It completely removes the fear of death and gives me peace for the unknown future.
Do you have that confidence and peace? Have you received God’s wonderful gift yet? Like all gifts, it has to be purposely received.
Grab a piece of paper and something to write with and take a few minutes to watch and listen as I simply explain God’s gift at a recent ladies event. Wether you believe in God or not, are a Christian or have faith in some other religion, I’d be so grateful if you watched this short video and participated along with the other ladies.
I hope that talk blessed you and gave you something to think about. I’d love to know that you’ve accepted God’s free gift of eternal life for yourself.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, and join in the tradition of sharing gifts, it couldn’t be a more perfect time to accept God’s amazing gift of forgiveness, grace, and eternal life through Jesus and His sacrifice for us.
